As per the Wildcats' varsity soccer page, Saint Ignatius and Walsh Jesuit played to a 1-1 tie in Sunday's final round of the annual Ohio Jesuit Cup Tournament at Cincinnati St. Xavier.

CROSS COUNTRY

Led by his gifted 1-2 punch of sophomores Luke Wagner and Tim Trentel, Coach Mike Gallagher '71 watched the Wildcats' varsity cross country team open the 2013 season with a first-place finish at the Panther Run To Fun 2-Mile in Sandusky on Saturday. Luke, Tim and senior Elliot Thorkelson finished 2-3-4.

FROM COACH GALLAGHER: Yesterday's meet was reminiscent of the cross country races 25 years ago. A well manicured golf course and a 2 mile distance opened the season for the Wildcats. With everyone in the same race, it was great to see the stream of yellow jerseys throughout the course. Luke Wagner(10:17) led the Wildcats, finishing second overall with a determined sprint and nearly catching the winning Hilliard Darby runner.

Tim Trentel(10:25), Eliot Thorkelson (10:30), Jeff Foerg (10:49), Sean Sovacool (10:49), John Nemes (10:50) and Jim Rogers (10:54) rounded the Wildcats' Top 7.

Leading the next 7 Saint Ignatius runners were freshmen CJ Ambrosio (10:59) and Andrew Szendrey(11:09), followed by Brennan Leitch (11:10), Greg Miller (11:12), Alex Falkenberg (11:13), Tom Sullivan (11:14) and Kevin Keaton (11:14).
