As computer playoff guru Joe Eitel projected over the weekend, Saint Ignatius football is seventh in the first weekly OHSAA computer ratings for the Northern Region in Division 1, Region 1.

In a new format that was put in place this spring, Division I is now broken down into two regions, Northern and Southern. The top 16 teams in each region at the end of the regular season will qualify for the OHSAA playoffs. The format will be 1 vs. 16, 2 vs. 15, etc.

As Mr. Eitel also projected, Austintown Fitch, Hudson and St. Edward are rated 1-2-3 in the Northern Region, or Region 1. For a complete list of the OHSAA ratings go to ohsaa.org and click on football.

*Just a reminder that the corner will preview this week's Paramus Catholic (NJ) versus Saint Ignatius football headliner tonight. The game is Saturday afternoon at 2:30 on Byers Field in Parma's Robert M. Boulton Stadium.
