Saint Ignatius and Rocky River were meeting for the first time since last season's District Semifinals, when the fourth-seeded Pirates, behind a remarkable performance in goal by Jake Nicholson, upset the top-seeded Wildcats, 3-1, at the John M. Coyne Recreation Center in Brooklyn. Just a reminder that the corner will be previewing Saint Ignatius' 2013-14 hockey season the week of Nov. 18.

Here is Coach O'Rourke's summary of Sunday's preseason tilt.

FROM COACH O'ROURKE: On Sunday night, the Saint Ignatius hockey team played Rocky River in a scrimmage game. Although the score wasn't officially kept, Saint Ignatius scored 4 goals throughout the night and Rocky River scored 3.

Wildcat goals were scored by Nick Gajkowski, Matty Geither, Brian Russell, and Danny Brogan. Brogan had the "game-winner" with about 3 minutes remaining. Sophomore net-minder Dylan McKeon got the win.

Thanks, POR
