Saint Ignatius basketball garners a third-place state ranking and Coach Pat O'Rourke's Ice Cats remain No.1 in the coaches' state poll.

The Saint Ignatius varsity basketball team earned the third spot in the initial Associated Press big-school state rankings for 2014. On the strength of Saturday night's 3-0 victory over St. Edward at Winterhurst (see the corner's story from Saturday night), the Ice Cats (16-2-4) continued to hold down the top spot in the weekly voting by the state's hockey coaches.

Here is how a statewide panel of sportswriters and broadcasters voted for the top 10 basketball teams in Division I, with the first-place votes in parenthesis.
