Saint Ignatius (17-3-4) defeated Erie (Pa.) Cathedral Prep, 6-0, in Friday's opening round of the 18th edition of the Meadville (Pa.) Bulldog Hockey Invitational in the DeArment Ice Arena.

Senior forward and captain Beck Schultz led the way with a hat trick and Connor Koehnke, Ethan Whitney and Aidan Spellacy provided the other lamp lighters. Koehnke's goal was the freshman's first on the varsity level.

Sophomore keeper Dylan McKeon had 11 saves in the shutout.

The Ice Cats return to the DeArment ice on Saturday for 1 PM faceoff with Bethel Park and a 8 PM game versus Sylvania Northview.
