Junior forward and assistant captain Jack Wiegandt and gifted junior forward Matty Geither provided the goals as Coach Pat O'Rourke's Ice Cats defeated Bethel Park, 2-1, during Saturday afternoon's action at the 18th annual Meadville (Pa.) Bulldog Hockey Invitational.

Saint Ignatius (18-3-4), which is seeking its fifth consecutive Meadville championship and its eighth overall, also benefited from 13 saves by sophomore goal keeper Wes Deacon. With the win over Bethel Park, the Ice Cats are guaranteed a spot in Sunday's semifinals.

First things first, however, as Saint Ignatius has a challenging game coming up tonight against Sylvania Northview. The puck will drop in the DeArment Ice Arena at 8 PM.
