Three standouts on the Ice Cats' now fourth OHSAA State Ice Hockey Championship Team, have earned first-team All-Ohio Honors.

Aidan, a senior forward/Captain, Dylan, a senior Alternate Captain and a three-year fixture between the pipes, and Brian, a senior defenseman/Captain, were joined on the All-Ohio First Team by University School's mainstays, senior forward/Captain Ryan Gorbett and senior defenseman Zach Goetsch, and Toledo St. Francis de Sales standout senior forward/Captain Kyle Bloom.

Bloom was also selected as Ohio's Mr. Hockey.

The All-Ohio Team is selected by the same 10 voters from around the state who vote on the Top 10 teams each week.

A FEW NOTES OF INTEREST ON THE 2016 STATE CHAMPIONS FROM CLEVELAND'S JESUIT PREPARATORY SCHOOL.

FROM COACH PAT O'ROURKE '90: "Aidan played in yesterday's state championship game with a badly separated shoulder. He toughed it out and in fact played very well. What an outstanding captain he was!

"With our win yesterday, I'm pretty sure we became just the 5th local team ever to win the "Triple Crown" of hockey - regular season division title, city tournament title, and state title."

Note from this old-timer: Aidan Spellacy, despite the badly separated shoulder, totaled a goal and three assists in the 4-3 State-Championship Game victory over University School on Saturday at Nationwide Arena. The Ice Cats brought home No. 4 in what was the 39th Annual OHSAA State Ice Hockey Tournament.
