Coach Casey Marcelo's gifted Wildcats, the essence of a team, completed a dominant 2-0 run in the Ohio High School Boys Volleyball Association's North Region Tournament by defeating the Battling Bees from Medina, 24-11, 24-16 and 25-15 on the storied court at Massillon Jackson High School on Friday evening.
With the victory, Coach Marcelo's team advances to next weekend's annual OHSBVA State Tournament at Capital University. Action will begin at 1:30 PM on May 28th.
Coming off a straight-sets victory over Stow in the Regional Semifinals on Wednesday evening, Saint Ignatius Volleyball improved to 22-4 with Friday's 3-0 mastering of Medina.
The top-seeded Wildcats entered Regional play as the fourth-raked team in the OHSBVA's Division I State Poll and the highest ranked Division I team in the North Region.
