CLEVELAND, OH - The Swimming and Diving Cats triumphed on Saturday as they clinched victory at the Northwest Sectional Meet, shattering both program and meet records in a dazzling display of athletic prowess. Josh Toothman, Jude Banks and the 200-yard Free Relay would break records at Robert F. Busbey Natatorium at Cleveland State University. 

Toothman continues hitting his stride late in the season as he rebroke his own record he set in the 50-yard Free against St. Edward with a time of 20.21. On Saturday in the Sectional Meet, Toothman beat that by 11 tenths of a second and set a new program record at 20.10. 

Toothman was not done as he would break Tyler Hong's '21 100-yard Free record that was set in the 2019-20 season with a time of 44.88. Toothman would claim that new program record with a time of 44.80. Along with being program records, Toothman also claimed new meet records with his times, records that were set by him last season. 

Sophomore Jude Banks would etch his name in the history books for the Sectional Meet in the 100-yard Breaststroke with a time of 56.71. 

The 200-yard Relay team of Toothman, Banks, Max Santoro and Tyler Williams would set a new meet record of 1:24.54.

The Aqua Cats advance to the District Meet that will take place on Saturday, February 17 at Bowling Green State University. The Cats are seeking their 12th District Championship in program history and first District Title since the 2021-22 season.
