GATES MILLS, OH - The Swimming and Diving team emerged victorious again, securing a triumphant first-place dual-meet win against Gilmour Academy on Tuesday night. Not only did the Aqua Cats claim the top spot, but they also etched their names in the record books at the Lancer Natatorium by shattering multiple pool records.
With remarkable performances, the team showcased its motto of dominating the competition this season.
Three pool records were broken at Lancer Natatorium as Josh Toothman broke the 100-yard Freestyle record with a time of 46.96. Then, a pair of relay teams finished with pool breaker times as the 200-yard Medley Relay team of Toothman, Jude Banks, Connor Fitzgerald and Tyler Williams came in first with a time of 1:34.77. The 200-yard Freestyle team of Williams, Toothman, Luke Murtha and Max Santoro came in first and broke a pool record with 1:28.05.
The Wildcats will wrap up the regular season with a dual meet against St. Edward on Saturday, January 27, at 11 a.m. from the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium at Cleveland State University. It will be Senior Day for the Aqua Cats as they get their final preparations in before heading into the postseason.
