OHIO CITY, Oh - The Varsity Blue Cats competed at the annual Kiely Cup on Sunday, September 10 and Monday, September 11. The two-day event showcases Ohio's best high school golf programs and prepares all teams for the state tournament in October. The Wildcats would take ninth place with a team total of 619.

The Blue and Gold were led by senior and Indiana University commit Bradley Chill, who shot a 74 on day one and 70 on day two for a team-best 144. Seniors Julian Dugan and Frank Adamo both had an individual score of 156. Alex Stiegele shot a 161 and freshman Fitch Farina shot a 167.

The JV Golf team lost their first dual invitational of the season against the Hudson Explorers 171-173 on Thursday, September 7, which brings their dual record to five wins and one loss. Earlier that week, the JV Cats defeated University School by two strokes, 172-174.

The JV Golf Cats got back on the winning trail this week. On Tuesday, September 12, the JV Golf Cats defeated the University School Preppers in a close match at Stonewater Golf Course, 206-207. This match had to go all the way to the sixth golfer to take the win. That makes five wins over University this year.

Thursday, September 14, the JV Golf Cats defeated St. Edward at Sleepy Hollow 169-186. An outstanding performance was shown by Will Bermel, who shot a sizzling 39 for nine holes. This improves the JV Cats record to 6-1 in dual matches this year. Next week, the JV Cats invites are against University School at Seneca on Tuesday and a rematch against St. Edward on Wednesday at a site to be determined.
