Runners and Parents,

The Cat Pack did it again!! They punched their ticket to the state meet with a third place finish out of 24 teams!! It looked like the rain would hold off as we headed along the turnpike to Boardman High School. The trees were resplendent in a full palate of colors like a Bob Ross painting. As race time approached, the skies opened and a steady rain covered the course. After the final instructions the 'Cats settled into slot #7 to await the gun. The starter fired and the Wildcats were off alongside 190 hopeful runners. Nick Mulhern led his team up the first hill and safely negotiated the first of several tight turns. The field finally separated at 2K with Steve Zucca vying for the lead.  With 500m to go, the runners disappear into the woods at the far side of the campus.  Steve moved with the eventual winner, but came up a few seconds short to finish 2nd overall in 15:54!  His wingman, Nick Mulhern was next in 16:39.  Peter Fitzpatrick 16:58, Jack Mayer 17:11, Aidan Monroe 17:18, Sean Uhran 17:21 and Elliot Rodstrom 17:37 locked down the 3rd place finish a point ahead of a tough Solon team.

Our fan base was loud and proud throughout the day, braving the wind and rain. Thanks to all those who came out to support the team.

Fri: SIHS precomp. Leave for State meet. Details TBA

Sat: State meet at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio. Race time at 3pm. We do have a coach bus reserved for our supporters leaving from SIHS. Time TBA. Sign up with Mrs. Fight in the athletic office.
