Head Coach Chuck Kyle '69

Now in his 48th season, Kyle has built a winning program based on doing things the right way. The results speak for themselves during Kyle’s tenure. 

Named head track & field coach prior to the start of the 1974 season, Kyle has directed the Wildcats to two OHSAA Track & Field Championships, in 2001 and 2016. The Cats have enjoyed a wealth of success, both on and off the track.

Kyle is also well-known for his role as head football coach, a position he has thrived in since 1983. Saint Ignatius has risen to unprecedented prominence in the Ohio High School Athletic Association under Kyle. The Wildcats own 11 big-school state championships and three national championships. 

Kyle also serves as an English teacher at Saint Ignatius, a position he cherishes. The 1969 Saint Ignatius grad also serves as youth football advisor for the Cleveland Browns.

Kyle has been inducted into several Halls of Fame, including the Greater Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame, the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and the National Federation of State High School Association Hall of Fame.

The Westlake native and his wife, Pat, have been married for 45 years and have four adult children.
