Old Man Winter is preparing to wreak havoc on Northeast Ohio again this week. Historically cold weather looms for Cleveland later this week.

In anticipation of brutally cold weather, Saint Ignatius and John Marshall have agreed to move Thursday's scheduled basketball games to Monday, February 4.

The times will remain the same – JV will tip off on 5:30 pm on Monday, followed by varsity at about 7 pm.

The Wildcats will compete against a familiar face on Monday – Rich Austin '10. The talented former Wildcat hooper serves as the head coach of the Lawyers' varsity basketball team.

The Basketball Cats and Lawyers have a longstanding history. The teams have met 90 times on the hardwood, making John Marshall the third-most common opponent for the Wildcats. Saint Ignatius owns a 61-29 advantage in the series, outscoring John Marshall all-time, 5,349-4,568. The Wildcats have won the last 33 games, dating back to the 1968-69 season.

The teams first met in the 1924-25 season, with John Marshall emerging victorious, 18-11. More recently, the Wildcats defeated the Lawyers in each of the past two seasons, 70-45 and 76-44. The Wildcats have not played at John Marshall since the 1979-80 season.

The JV and varsity games at John Marshall will be broadcasted on the SIBN.

With the postponement of the showdown with the Lawyers, the Wildcats' next game is slated for Saturday at Sullivan Gym vs. Benedictine.
