The road to title No. 9 for the Saint Ignatius soccer program has been laid out.

The Wildcats, currently 11-1-2 on the year, will start the grind on October 20.

Following road games this week vs. Padua and Olentangy Liberty, the playoff journey will begin in the friendly confines of Wasmer Field. The Wildcats will welcome either No. 8 seeded Parma or No. 9 Valley Forge for a 7 p.m. home contest.

With a win, the Wildcats would host either No. 4 Normandy or No. 5 St. Edward on October 24 at Wasmer Field at 7 p.m. A victory in the District Semifinal would give the Wildcats a third and final home game on October 27 at 7 p.m. No. 2 seed North Royalton and No.3 Berea are the early favorites in the bottom half of the Parma district bracket.

Should the Wildcats get out of districts, the men of Mike McLaughlin '85 would play the Elyria district winner in the Regional Semifinal on Halloween at 7 p.m. The Regional Final will then take place on November 3 at a time and place to be determined.

The State Semifinal is slated for Wednesday, November 7 at 7 p.m, at a neutral location to be determined. The State Championship will take place on Saturday, November 10 at 7 p.m. at MAPFRE Stadium.

The Wildcats reached the State Semifinal last season and won the State Championship in 2014, 2015, and 2016. A championship this year would be the ninth in school history.

Entering the final week of the regular season, the Wildcats are the No. 1 team in both Ohio and the Great Lakes Region, as ranked by the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (OSSCA) and Top Drawer Soccer.
