This week's honoree for the Student-Athlete of the Week has been on fire lately.

A fleet of foot member of the Cross Country Cats, this week's winner has finished first on the team in nearly every race. He's an indispensable member of the squad.

The recipient this week is Nick Saul.

The senior has guided the Wildcats every step of the way this season. From the start, Saul has anchored the lead pack, leading the Wildcats to the top.

Saul proved essential last week for the Wildcats. Saul directed the Cross Country Cats to first place the renowned Meet of Champions. The senior finished seventh out of 274 runners at the race, hosted by Hillard Davidson in Columbus.

With Saul at the front of the pack, the Wildcats have recorded three titles this season. The squad won the Mentor Invitational and Strongsville Invitational, becoming the first team to upstage a heavily favored Hudson squad for the first time since 2016.

The season is now entering the home stretch for the blue and gold. Saul and the Cats will race in the Stow Invitational on Saturday, the last scheduled regular-season race before the District Meet on October 20. If Saul and the Wildcats continue running well, the team could make plenty of noise at the State Meet in early November.

Congratulations, Nick – keep up the great work!
