The Saint Ignatius varsity soccer team will be making the four-hour trip south to the Queen City this weekend.

The Wildcats will be playing one of the top teams in the country on Saturday – Louisville St. Xavier.

Saint Ignatius enters as the No. 2 team in the nation according to USA TODAY and the No. 3 side in the Top Drawer Soccer rankings. USA TODAY has St. Xavier at No. 9 and Top Drawer places the Kentucky powerhouse at No. 5.

The highly anticipated matchup between the top-ranked team in Ohio and one of the top squads in Kentucky will take place on Saturday at 6 pm at Xavier University's soccer pitch. The contest will be one of the toughest tests of the season for the Wildcats.

St. Xavier won four games last week to extend its record to 8-0-0. Case Cox, Conner George and Max Gordinier scored for the Tigers in a week capped off by a 3-0 victory over St. Louis University High School, a top Jesuit school in Missouri.

Saint Ignatius enters with a 5-0 record following a 10-day break. Its last contest was a victory over Solon last Thursday, a 4-1 triumph. Bryce Horton scored two goals to earn Student-Athlete of the Week honors.

Wildcats' head coach Mike McLaughlin '85 welcomes all Cincinnati alumni to the game to support the Wildcats. Come cheer on the Wildcats on Saturday at 6 pm at Xavier University!
