The Cats pose with the 2nd place trophy on Tuesday.

In the final tournaments of the season before the start of school, the Saint Ignatius varsity golf team continued its hot tear.

The Wildcats snatched first place at the prestigious Hudson Invitational on Monday and finished second at "The Tradition" tournament on Tuesday.

In impressive fashion, the Golf Cats have earned third place or better in all six tournament to start the season.

The Wildcats won their third invitational of the year at Hudson Country Club on Monday. Hosted by Hudson High School, the tournament featured 29 teams from around the area. The Wildcats bested them all with a score of 293.

Andrew Kaye set the standard for the Wildcats, scoring a team-best 71. Ross Williamson tallied a 73, while Topher Reed followed closely behind with a 74. Nick Longano enjoyed a great afternoon with a 75 and Andrew Martin brought up the rear with an 84.

"293 is a very good score," said Head Coach Brian Becker '77. "Winning this tournament against some of the major talent in the state is a great sign for us."

Amidst an 18-team field on Tuesday, the Wildcats fared almost as well. The Cats participated in "The Tradition" at Brookledge Golf Course, a tournament hosted by Walsh Jesuit High School. The Wildcats finished with a team score of 309.

Andrew Kaye anchored the Wildcats, tying for fourth with a score of 75. Jake Moraca enjoyed a great day, penciling in a 76 on the afternoon. Topher Reed chipped in a 78 to continue his hot streak, close behind the Wildcats' veteran duo.

Nick Longano's 80 and Ross Williamson's 85 rounded out the Wildcats' scores on a nice afternoon on the links.

Good Vibrations for Beach's Boys

The Saint Ignatius JV Gold squad, or the Varsity B team on Tuesday, performed well at the "Tradition" on Tuesday, as well. The men of Coach Tom Beach landed in seventh in a field of varsity teams with a team score of 321.

Andrew Martin and Jess Saunders tallied team-best scores of 78 on the day to lead the Gold Cats. MJ Myers continued a strong start to his freshman campaign with an 81. Zach Hazard potted an 84 and Connor Warns nabbed an 88 to round out the Cats.
