Watch out, Northeast Ohio. Topher Reed is for real.

The Wildcats' freshman put on a show on Saturday at Little Mountain Golf Course. Reed shot an absolutely stunning round of 67, notching an impressive 31 on the front nine and 36 on the back nine. Reed's score of 67 fell just one short of the school record set by Dan Rush in 2004.

Reed's effort guided the Wildcats to a third-place finish in Saturday's tournament, hosted by Lake Catholic. The Golf Cats completed the day with a team score of 305.

Reed's score of 67 granted him medalist honors for the tournament. Previously in his first week with the Wildcats, Reed shot a 79 and 71, as Head Coach Brian Becker '77 said, "really amazing for a kid who has yet to see the inside of the school as a student."

Reed will be very fun to watch this season for the Wildcats.

Andrew Martin stood as the second-place finisher on the team with a score of 77. Fellow sophomore Nick Longano penciled in an 81 on his scorecard at the end of the day. Juniors Andrew Kaye and Ross Williamson finished out the quintet, each tabbing an 81 on the East side course.

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin won the tournament with a score of 300.

Before school begins in full force next week, the varsity Golf Cats will head to Hudson Country Club on Monday. The Wildcats will take part in the prestigious Hudson Invitational, featuring a stellar field from across the state.
