In typical fashion, the Saint Ignatius prep lacrosse team dispatched of another playoff foe at home on Friday evening.

The 13-7 Lax Cats steamrolled by the Green Bulldogs on Wasmer Field, 20-4, displaying smart offense and a refusal to take any team lightly. With the win, the Cats advance to the Regional Semifinal on Tuesday.

The game started with two of the Wildcats' best playmakers taking over. Merick Hartley tallied the first goal of the evening at 10:58 and the second of the night at 6:39. Fellow sophomore Michael Boehm responded with two tallies of his own at 5:11 and 1:48.

The Wildcats felt out Green for the start of the first, but started to expose weaknesses as the period continued. Chris Larsen rocketed a shot into the net and Patrick Koehler fired a feed from Nate Conry into twine to set the score at 6-0 after the first.

Hartley completed his hat trick to start the second quarter. Nate Conry, a deadly facilitator, did the job himself at 8:22 to make it 8-0. Green scored just over a minute later to strike first blood. Conry and Koehler notched goals in response to advance the lead to 10-1. The Bulldogs did not quit, however, striking twice to end the half.

Fired up by the two late Green goals, the Wildcats roared out of the gate in the third. The Cats ripped six straight goals to tear out the Bulldogs' hopes. Kyle Katigbak turned into the Human Torch in the third, scoring three goals in just 2:24. Conry scored his second off a wonderful Max Maruna pass. Larsen then tallied his second and assisted on a Bain Kurtz bomb.

With the running clock in effect, Green trailed 16-3 with 7:50 left in the third. The Bulldogs did notch a goal, but then the Wildcats took control and dominated the possession. Boehm and Maruna scored to finish off the third quarter at 18-4.

The Wildcats held the ball for most of the fourth, but did score twice on tallies by Griff Gerard and Hartley, ending the game at 20-4.

Next up for the Cats is the Regional Semifinal on Tuesday at a time TBD on Wasmer Field. The men of Gary Cintron will face the winner of No. 3 North Canton Hoover and No. 6 Shaker Heights. The Vikings and Red Raiders play on Saturday at 11 am at Hoover's home field. The Wildcats beat Hoover, 16-4, and Shaker Heights, 17-1, earlier this season.
