The rugby and volleyball teams, among others, will host alumni over Thanksgiving Weekend.

Thanksgiving brings with it a great many joys, including football, family, and food.

Thanksgiving also signals a welcome home.

This year, Saint Ignatius athletics will be welcoming back alumni for a host of gatherings over the Thanksgiving Weekend holiday.

The fun will begin next Thursday. The volleyball team will be hosting a volleyball open gym on Thanksgiving morning from 9 am until noon. The event will take place in Murphy Gym. Coach Jacob Layden will host the event – alumni can contact him with any questions.

Depending on the outcome of Friday's football game, the campus could be busier with alumni on Thanksgiving. We'll have more information on that if the occasion arises.

The fun will continue into Friday, as the crew and rugby programs will welcome back alumni.

The Rugby Cats will host a 15s alumni match and a flag alumni tournament on Wasmer Field beginning at 11 a.m. Following some fun matches of rugby, the Wildcats will host an alumni social at Hansa House at 1:30 p.m.

For more information, contact Coach Dan Arbeznik at darbeznik@ignatius.edu. Alumni can register online at: http://www.ignatiuswildcats.com/rugbyalumni

The Crew Cats will host Turkey Row, an alumni vs. students 500s race, at 2 p.m. on Friday. Crews are encouraged to organize in advance and reach out to Coach Hess at mhess0711@gmail.com.

Following the race, the team will host an Adult Social and Raffle at the Hansa House. Tickets are $30 in advance, $40 at the door, or $10 for alumni with a current college ID. Alumni can register in advance here: http://turkeyrow.sihscrew.com/

The weekend festivities will conclude on Saturday, with the swimming and diving team's annual Annual Blue and Gold Intrasquad Alumni Meet at Cleveland State University at 11 a.m. The meet will be followed by a luncheon in the lobby.

While this will be a pot-luck for the current swimming families, it's not necessary to bring anything besides a willingness to swim a couple of events to bring back fun memories of your years spent with the Saint Ignatius swim and dive team. Swimming is not mandatory, just a fun suggestion!

If you plan on attending, please respond to the Evite link: http://evite.me/TWZbkTZf7q. With questions, contact Kyoko Hong at kyokoozawa4@gmail.com.

We hope to see many of our alumni over Thanksgiving Weekend!
