The 2016 Division I State Runner-Up Wildcats received the most first-place votes this week with 13, but St. Xavier edged Saint Ignatius in total voting points, 237-232. The Bombers, who are Ohio's defending Division I State Champion, earned 10 first-place votes.
Please note that the teams in bold face are all members of Region 1, as designated by the OHSAA. Region 1 accounts for half of the teams ranked/receiving points in this week's AP Division I poll. It's not a surprise, since these six teams make up the top six programs in the Region 1 computer playoff rankings by playoff guru Joe Eitel.
