The men of Tom Beach continue to impress.

The dog days of summer have treated the Saint Ignatius JV Gold Golf squad well.

The JV Gold Cats won the St. Charles High School JV Invitational on Tuesday at Clover Valley Golf Course, located north of Columbus.

The Wildcats posted an impressive team score of 308, the squad's best of the year by 8 strokes. That's a big leap.

A total of 19 teams competed in Tuesday's tournament. Dublin Jerome enjoyed the local advantage, taking second with a 319, while Archbishop Moeller claimed third with a 323. St. Charles is the alma mater of Rev. Paul Shelton, S.J., JV Blue Coach Tom Bogen, and History Department teacher Mike Howard.

KJ Ripich was the medalist for the Wildcats. The phenom carded a 73, a remarkable score for a sophomore.

John Klym, Zach Hazard, Connor Warns, Kyle Gerrity, and Jess Saunders rounded out the Wildcats' crew in Columbus on Tuesday.

With the first day of school tomorrow, the JV Gold squad will take time off before returning to the course on Saturday for a match versus University School.
