The fall season has arrived.

Following a busy summer, the Wildcats are back on the field again.

August 1 has arrived, bringing the first day of practice and tryouts for Saint Ignatius soccer, golf, and cross country.

The Soccer Cats began week-long tryouts this morning at 7 a.m. sharp, the Golf Cats started tryouts at Pine Hills this morning, and the Wildcats' Harriers start things off tonight.

The 2017 season brings high hopes for all three squads. The men of Mike McLaughlin '85 have won three straight state titles, but will have a youthful squad with only a handful of upperclassmen. The golfers of Brian Becker '77 will face tough competition, but student-athletes such as Michael McCaffrey look buoy the squad. Longtime cross country Dr. Mike Gallagher '71 also has several promising returnees, such as Liam McGuire, along with a young core.

As the season approaches, we have more in-depth previews for each team. Happy August 1, or for Wildcat Athletics, Happy New Year!
