Josh Hsia is headed to Columbus for the second straight year.

The Saint Ignatius tennis squad is poised for a special end of the season.

Five Wildcats will represent Saint Ignatius at the 2017 OHSAA State Tennis Tournament this weekend.

Josh Hsia will compete for the blue and gold after posting an impressive performance at Districts in singles play. The senior also reached the State Tournament last season, and looks to extend his stay in 2017.

Both Saint Ignatius doubles teams will also make the trip to Mason, Ohio on Friday. Jack McNally and Kevin Callanan will compete as a duo, as well as Richard Hofstra and Brian Zhu.

The five Tennis Cats will start the State Tournament on Friday at the Lindner Family Tennis Center. The tournament begins on Friday and extends to Saturday in Mason, a city not far outside of Cincinnati.

Hsia will begin his tournament run against sophomore Niraj Komatineni out of Mason High School. Komatineni will have the home court advantage, but Hsia has faced plenty of tough opponents this season and is not be playing in his first State Tournament.

Juniors Hofstra and Zhu will start out against senior Noah Stern and junior Nathan Zhang of Cincinnati Sycamore, a school about 15 minutes north of Mason.

Callanan and McNally will face off against sophomore Max DeCurtins and senior Peter Schulteis in the first round of the tournament. DeCurtins and Schulteis will represent fellow Jesuit school St. Xavier in the doubles tournament.
