Head Coach Casey Marcelo (right) received Coach of the Year honors, too.

The eight-team North Region of the Ohio High School Boys Volleyball Association (OHSBVA) released its All-Star team on Tuesday evening. Surprising no one, the All-Star team has quite the contingent from Saint Ignatius.

Five Wildcats drew honors from the OHSBVA, with seniors Rich Holzheimer and Danny Michals leading the way as first-teamers. Senior James Purcell and sophomore Phillip Catanzaro garnered second-team honors, while Quinn Flanagan received an honorable mention.

And the man behind the Wildcats' 16-3 record thus far also received some deserved attention. Casey Marcelo was named the North Region Coach of the Year.

Marcelo has guided the Wildcats since 2008, leading the Volleyball Cats to the Division I State Quarterfinals each season. Marcelo has done a particularly impressive job this season, helping the team's playmakers find their groove and placing them in positions to succeed.

The Volleyball Cats will celebrate Senior Night on Wednesday evening in Sullivan Gym, commemorating the outstanding achievements of the seven seniors on the roster.

Following tonight's matchup with Stow-Munroe Falls, the Wildcats will face St. Edward on the road on Friday evening. Then, the OHSBVA Tournament will begin.

Congrats to the Volleyball Cats!
