Following a banner 2016 season, the Saint Ignatius lacrosse team is ready for another successful year. 

Four men will lead the Lax Cats in a big year for the program.

The team announced its four captains on Wednesday afternoon, naming Carter Blossey, Brent Chernosky, Sean Keller, and Jack Rennillo as captains. 

The senior quartet played a key role in helping the squad reach the state championship contest last season. The four will now look to guide the Wildcats to their lofty goal of returning to the state title this year, sanctioned this year by the OHSAA.

The season begins for the Lax Cats on Saturday. Led by Garen Distelhorst '96, the Wildcats are scheduled to play St. Ignatius College Prep from Chicago, Illinois. Weather permitting, the contest will be played in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
