A tough schedule to start the season has not fazed the Wildcats, and people are beginning to notice. 

The Basketball Cats have climbed to No. 1 in cleveland.com's Northeast Ohio basketball poll.

The Wildcats, 9-4 on the year, reside in the top spot after a 75-63 victory at No. 22 Cleveland Central Catholic on Saturday. Matt Davet led the way for the visitors with 26 points in the contest. 

Guided by head coach Brian Becker '77, the Wildcats have captured quality wins over No. 2 St. Vincent-St. Mary and No. 3 St. Edward, among other strong squads.

Next up for the Wildcats is a showdown with No. 25 Lutheran East on Thursday. The Falcons have a 10-5 record after falling to Cleveland Heights, 55-44, on January 18 and defeating John Adams, 88-59 on Saturday.
