Two Wildcats were also named as honorable mentions.

The season is complete, but the accolades keep rolling in for the 2016 Saint Ignatius football team.

Cleveland.com named two Wildcats to its Offensive All-Star team in an article on Monday morning – guard John Jamieson and tight end James Leyden.

Cleveland.com named John Spellacy, arguably the best center in all of Ohio this year, as an honorable mention. Kicker Matt Trickett was also an honorable mention after an impressive junior year on the football field, which compliments his accomplishments on the pitch nicely.

Jamieson, Spellacy, and the outstanding Saint Ignatius offensive line paved the way for a near unstoppable rushing attack. Jimmy Andrews, Mark Bobinksi, Dean Stowers, Patrick Ryan, and Co. combined for 3,304 yards and 47 touchdowns on the ground.

As Spellacy heads to East Carolina to continue a promising career, Jamieson will return for his senior season as a captain.

Leyden finished the year with 20 receptions for 290 yards and 3 touchdowns, including a clutch score in the Regional Championship against St. Edward.

The senior also stood out at linebacker, recording 37.5 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, and 6 sacks.

Trickett, an honorable mention kicker, connected on 13-of-19 field goals, including 13-of-16 from within 50 yards. Trickett also made an impressive 60-of-61 extra points in 2016.

Congratulations to Jamieson, Leyden, Spellacy, and Trickett on a phenomenal season. Bright things are in store for these young men.
