C.J. Ambrosio Leads Cross Country Cats to 1st Place at Medina Districts

C. J. Ambrosio's first-place performance leads the Wildcats Harriers to the Medina District Championship

For the second consecutive season, the Saint Ignatius Wildcats and the Battling Bees of Medina went 1-2 at the Medina District.

The defending State Champion Cross Country Cats of Dr. Mike Gallagher raced to a team time of 1:21:57.96. Medina's time was 1:23:04.84.

The gifted and savvy C.J. Ambrosio, who is also a school record holder for Coach Chuck Kyle's defending State Champion Track and Field Team, took first place at Medina with a race of 15:37.92.

Saint Ignatius' Andrew Szendrey was fifth in a time of 16:15.77, Liam McGuire was seventh in 16:29.56, Colin Caniglia was 11th in 16:41.33, Andrew Biehl was 16th in 16:53.38, and Collin Kelly (17:01.35) and Nick Saul (17:01.57) finished 21st and 22nd, respectively.

Up next for the Wildcats' Harriers is the Regional Meet at the challenging Boardman High School course on October 29th at 11 AM.
