Cleveland, Ohio - Chicago Bears starting quarterback Brian Hoyer '04, who has been holding a hot hand, and Green Bay Packers standout linebacker Jake Ryan '10 will match skills on Thursday night in what is one of the storied rivalries in the NFL.

The kickoff from Lambeau Field is 8:25 PM.

In another Saint Ignatius tie, Brian's position coach with the Bears is former Wildcats All-Ohio quarterback, University of Louisville All-American and NFL and NFL Europe QB Dave Ragone '98. Dave was also an outstanding guard on Coach Brian Becker's 1998 Division I State Runner-Up Basketball Team.

Brian Hoyer, a former starting quarterback for the Michigan State Spartans, was a mainstay as a pitcher/outfielder for the Wildcats' Varsity Baseball Teams under Coaches Brian Morgan and Brad Ganor, including the 2002 State Championship Team. Jake Ryan went on to an outstanding career as a two-year captain for the Michigan Wolverines before being drafted by the Packers.

This corner had the privilege to cover and report on all three of the above gentlemen during my nearly 40 years with The Plain Dealer and my nine years with Saint Ignatius.
