Lodge, a linchpin on one of the most gifted defenses in the nation, was unflappable during the Soccer Cats' run to a record seventh OHSAA State Championship and the program's third national title last season. His play has helped fuel Saint Ignatius' drive to what is currently a 50-match unbeaten streak.

With Lodge anchoring the Wildcats in net over the weekend during the soccer team's trip to Denver, Saint Ignatius shut out Cherry Creek on Friday, 4-0, and Regis Jesuit, 1-0, on Saturday.

Lodge made several key saves on Saturday, deflecting a penalty kick and many other shots. Lodge has eight shutouts on the season.

The state's and nation's top-ranked Soccer Cats (12-0-2) have two games remaining before they make their run at what would be an Ohio record third consecutive Boys State Soccer Championship, including a Thursday night matchup versus Twinsburg at Wasmer Field.

The regular-season finale versus Berea-Midpark is scheduled for Saturday at noon on the pitch at Lou Groza Field. Then it's time to gear up for the OHSAA postseason as the area's top seed.

Congratulations again to Lodge, his family, nationally acclaimed Head Coach Mike McLaughlin '85 and the entire Saint Ignatius Soccer Program.
