From Ridge Road and Day Drive in storied Parma, Ohio - Coach Paul Yappel's JV 'Cats struck early on Byers Field in Parma's Robert M. Boulton Stadium Saturday morning, scoring on a 28-yard field goal by Patrick Otter and an on-the-money Caden Campolieti-to-Nate Conry 55-yard touchdown pass into the Day Drive end zone that was capped by Otter's extra-point kick.

Wildcats Veteran Quarterbacks Coach/JV Offensive Coordinator Jim Cahill described the Campolieti to Conry TD strike as "perfect."

The defense got in on the first quarter scoring when standout defensive back Jett Elad stormed the Redmen backfield and blocked a punt. Danny Scelza was the beneficiary of Jett's play as he scooped and scored from 30 yards out. Otter's kick was high and true, and the Wildcats were up 17-0.

Coach Dave Cicetti's defense continued its stingy ways in the second quarter, forcing another three and out and putting the Wildcat offense in business again.

Saint Ignatius, behind some strong running by tailback Jahadge "Bo" Floyd and Mitchell Puhalsky, pushed its lead to 24-0 on a 25-yard touchdown reception by wide receiver/defensive back John Wetula and the ensuing extra point by Otter.

In what was the highlight-reel play of the game, defensive back Nate Previts set up the Wildcats' final score with a big-time interception along the Parma sideline.

After a 45-yard run by "Bo" Floyd and a 20-yard pitch and catch from Campolieti to wide receiver Nigel Drummond, Saint Ignatius was knocking on the door with a first and goal at the 2-yard line.

From there, Campolieti called his own number on third down and snuck in for the touchdown. Otter's PAT closed out the scoring as Saint Ignatius took a 31-0 lead into the halftime break.

Coach Yappel and his staff cleared their bench with the deficit-rule running clock being employed in the second half.

FROM COACH CAHILL: "It was another solid team effort, and another positive step in their development as Saint Ignatius Wildcat football players. Many guys who normally do not get a lot of playing time were able to get in and ultimately add to our depth."

Up next for the Junior Varsity Wildcats is a matchup with the JV program from GlenOak on October 8 at 11 AM on Wasmer Field.
