Runners and parents,

The ride down I-71 to Cloverleaf High School will probably be the last weekend we see the trees before their leaves begin to change. The green fields of summer corn were standing like sentinels holding onto summer. We expected cooler temperatures and low humidity, but found temps in the high 70's and the course dry and dusty.

We rested a few of the Cat Pack runners in anticipation of the MMOC meet next week.

The Cloverleaf course starts on a large field and within 150 meters narrows to a thin path and takes a 90 degree turn to the right. The Cats avoided the chaos and settled into the chase pack. The race consists of 2 loops with a dozen tight turns, steep descents and leg-burning up hills. In other words, a good, solid, challenging XC course.

Pat Nolan led the team in 16:50 in spite of a nasty fall near the finish. Andrew Biehl 17:09 (PR) and Colin Kelly 17:12(PR) were next.  Freshman Steve Zucca 17:27 was spiked at the start and gets the "Tough Guy " award for a gutsy run.  Gabe Ohliger 17:40, Nathan Soria 17:45, and Will (I. Am) Deucher 18:10 finished the scoring for the team.  The 'Cats took 4th in the race.

In the JV race, Will Maier (17:53) led through 2 miles and finished 3rd overall. Logan Kijewski 17:54, Brett Saunders 17:59, Aidan Morrison 18:20, Liam Rielly 18:24, and Andrew Ulrich 18:32 took the team to a 1st place finish in the race.

This weeks schedule: Please note the practice times. The bus will be leaving practice at 5 to return to school. 

Mon: Mastic 3:30-5:00

Tues: Edgewater 3:30-5:00

Wed:  Mastic 3:30-5:00

Thurs: JV, Frosh pre comp SIHS 3:00-4:00, Varsity Cedar Pt.

Fri: Gilmour Invitational Varsity at Gilmour High School: B 4:30, JV/ frosh /open 6:00. Bus leaves school at 3 PM.

Sat: Varsity Midwest Meet of Champions at Hilliard Bradley High School, 12:00 PM. Varsity will leave school after 8th period on Friday.
