Michael McCaffrey and Andrew Kaye turn in solid performances as the OHSAA tournament nears.
FROM WILDCATS HEAD COACH BRIAN BECKER '77 AND POSTED BY MR. EDDIE DWYER
Coach Becker: The Varsity Golf Team traveled to Maumee Bay Country Club in Toledo on Saturday to participate in the St. John's Jesuit invitational.
The team shot an above average round of 324, but had some very promising moments throughout the day. The Cats were led by senior Michael McCaffrey and freshman Andrew Kaye, who shot solid rounds of 77. Michael carded a 3-under front nine round of 33 to shoot the lowest front nine score of the tournament and Andrew was very steady, hitting 13 greens in regulation.
The Cats finished 8th in the tournament and will travel to Columbus' Tarton Fields Country Club next weekend for the final regular season tournament before the OHSAA state tournament run begins.
