Congratulations from the corner to Wildcats standout Colin Goodfellow on being selected as the Saint Ignatius Athlete of the Week

By Mr. Eddie Dwyer, September 2016

Cleveland, Ohio - Colin '17, a standout on the special teams who handles both the kickoffs and punting duties for Hall of Fame Head Football Coach Chuck Kyle '69, earned Special Mention Division I All-Ohio honors from the Associated Press last season and was the first-team punter on the AP's Division I All-Northeast Lakes District Team last fall.

A gifted all-around athlete, Colin is off to a great start this season. In last weekend's tough 28-21 overtime loss at Detroit Catholic Central, he punted four times, averaging 41.5 yards per punt and twice pinning the Shamrocks inside their own 20-yard line.

Of his 27 kickoffs this year, 23 have gone for touchbacks.

Outside of football, Colin dedicates much of his time to service. Like Saint Ignatius' recent outstanding kickers Tim Shenk, Matt Colella and Cory Griffith, Colin is heavily involved in Kick it For Cancer, helping to raise money to cure childhood cancer.

Colin is also a member of Coach Brian Becker's '77 Wildcats Basketball Program and throughout his early years with Saint Ignatius' Football Program Colin displayed savvy and a strong arm as a quarterback.

Again, congrats from this corner to a special athlete and even a greater young man.
