Congratulations go out to Moderator Jeff McCormick '83, Student Sports Information Department President Mike Watts '11 and all of those who contributed for helping make The 2010 Saint Ignatius Football Media Relations Guide a Gold Medal recipient. It marks the second consecutive year that this honor has been bestowed upon the Wildcats' football guide.

As was the case last year, the National High School Sports Publications Awards recognized Saint Ignatius with a Gold Medal in the “Private School, 1,000-1,500 Enrollment, Student Prepared Category." The SSID received notification of the award late this week.

The National High School Sports Publications Awards are designed to recognize excellence in the preparation of Media Guides or Souvenir Programs that call attention to athletic teams at the secondary school level throughout the United States. All sports are eligible for the awards (Gold, Silver and Bronze) and it does not matter if the entry comes from a public or private school, large or small.

Rumor has it that the returning members of the SSID have guaranteed a three-peat in 2011-12.
