SAINT IGNATIUS' VARSITY HOCKEY TEAM LAYS DOUBLE STICKS ON THE WARRIORS IN DOMINATING WALSH JESUIT AT KENT STATE UNIVERSITY.

'CATS ICERS WIN THEIR EIGHTH STRAIGHT BEHIND A FAST AND FURIOUS PERFORMANCE.

Well, let's see.

Paddy Spellacy, the Wildcats' outstanding junior forward and captain, had four goals and three assists. Talented junior defender Mike Abood and gifted sophomore center Miles McQuinn each had two goals.

And there were plenty of other points to go around.

Saint Ignatius (24-5), winning its eighth straight outing on the ice, defeated Walsh Jesuit, 11-1, on Friday night at Kent State University and maintained its lead in the rugged Red North Division. The game was called after two periods.

Spellacy and McQuinn have now combined for 70 goals this winter, including 38 by Miles.

Here's a suggestion. Get the chores and the shopping done early and come out to Brooklyn's John M. Coyne Recreation Center today (Saturday) and see the 'Cats take on the always dangerous Lake Catholic Cougars in a key Red North Division matchup.

The puck is scheduled to drop on Memphis Avenue at 4:45 p.m.
