Just a reminder that head coach Ryan Franzinger '02 will lead his undefeated junior-varsity football team against the always tough Cardinals of Youngstown Cardinal Mooney on Monday (tomorrow) at Wasmer Field. The kickoff is 6 P.M.

Under the direction of head coach Mike McLaughlin '85, the Wildcats' nationally ranked varsity soccer team (10-1) will travel to Twinsburg on Thursday night. Saint ignatius is coming off another outstanding defensive performance - a 2-0 triumph over the highly regarded program from Massillon Jackson on Saturday night. It was the Wildcats' second 2-0 victory this past week, as they also blanked St. Edward on Wednesday night.

*Saint Ignatius head varsity basketball coach and associate athletic director Sean O'Toole '87 told the corner that his Wildcats will be competing in the 10th anniversary of the Good Samaritan Flyin' to the Hoop Boy's High School Basketball Invitational.

The prestigious tournament will be held at Trent Arena in Kettering, Ohio. In what is a one-game exposure for the Wildcats, Coach O'Toole's team will face Wayne (Ohio) on Sunday, Jan. 15, at 1:15 P.M. Other area powers competing in the tournament include St. Vincent-St. Mary, Cleveland Heights and Garfield Heights.

Led by tournament-tested veterans Jack Tupa and Derek Sloan and some gifted underclassmen, Saint Ignatius has a makeup that could lead to one of the more memorable seasons in Wildcats basketball history.

In a final reminder, the corner will preview Saturday night's varsity football headliner against Glenville on Tuesday night. We will have a special interview surrounding the 'Cats-Tarblooders series, which stands at 5-4 in favor of Glenville.
