SAINT IGNATIUS IS SEEDED FOURTH AT THE SOLON DIVISION I SECTIONAL/DISTRICT BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT. RUSTOM KHOURI TO FURTHER HIS EDUCATION AND FOOTBALL CAREER AT FORDHAM.

Coach Sean O'Toole's varsity basketball team was seeded fourth during Sunday's draw/seed meeting for the Division I boys basketball sectional/district tournament at Solon High School.

The Wildcats (12-4), who drew a first-round bye, will play their first tournament game in a sectional final on Friday, March 2 at 6 p.m. The 'Cats will face the winner of the Feb. 28th sectional semifinal game between Kenston (16-1) and Euclid (6-10).

Cleveland Heights, which will be at Sullivan Gym on Thursday night, is the top seed at Solon, followed by Shaker Heights, Garfield Heights, Saint Ignatius and Cleveland John F. Kennedy. Kenston was seeded sixth.

Shaker Heights and Senate champion John F. Kennedy are in the same portion of the bracket with Saint Ignatius. Shaker Heights faces the winner of the Feb. 28th semifinal between Lincoln-West and JFK on March 2 at 7:30 p.m. IF Saint Ignatius and Shaker Heights are successful on March 2, they will meet in a district semifinal on Wednesday, March 7 at 7 p.m.

Solon's district championship game is scheduled for Saturday, March 10 at 2 p.m.

****CONGRATULATIONS GO OUT to Saint Ignatius' All-Ohio, All-Northeast Lakes District and Plain Dealer All-Star senior middle linebacker Rustom Khouri, who has commited to further his education and football career at Fordham. Rustom, who helped fuel the Wildcats' drive to a record 11th Division I state football championship, had also considered Columbia.
