George DiCamillo, the top-ranked 120-pounder in the nation, is among five Wildcats to advance to Saturday night's championship round of the OHSAA Division I sectional tournament at North Royalton High School. George advanced by winning over Micah Shorts of Shaker Heights in a fall (1:24) during Saturday afternoon's championship semifinals.

With that victory, George will take a 65-match winning streak and a school record 143 career victories into the title round.

Joining George as winners from Saturday afternoon's championship semifnals were Jimmy Ferritto, who won by fall at 106 (1:39), Tommy Zeigler, who came away with a 12-6 decision at 113, Nick Lees, who wrestled to a major 18-7 decision at 152 and Ethan Janesz, who racked up a 6-0 decision at 160.

In other news from Saturday afternoon, Max Baughman (220 pounds), Anthony Dietel (126) and Dan Cartolin (285) won their third-round consolation matches. Saint Ignatius trails tradition-rich Maple Heights, 196-156, in the team standings, but this time of the year is all about advancing wrestlers to the next competition - the Mentor District.

The corner will be at Viking Village for tonight's JV and varsity basketball games against Villa Angela-St. Joseph, but will provide a complete wrestling wrap up once I return home from the Lake Shore.

God Bless and Good Luck, Eddie.
