All-American quarterback Andrew Luck, projected to be the top pick in next month's NFL draft, put on a show during Stanford's Pro Day this week.

In what was a performance that had NFL scouts and front office personnel shaking their heads, and the Indianapolis Colts sitting in the catbird seat, Andrew completed 46 of 50 of passes. And one of those passes was an on-the-money, 70-yard dart that was dropped.

For those of you who don't know by now, Andrew is the son of former Saint Ignatius standout quarterback and gifted all-around athlete Oliver Luck '78. A member of the Wildcats' Athletic Hall of Fame and a John J. Wirtz Award winner, Oliver went on to an outstanding career as a quarterback for the Mountaineers of West Virginia and played in the NFL for the then Houston Oilers. Oliver is currently the Athletic Director at West Virginia.

In having the privilege to do a feature on Oliver for the Saint Ignatius Magazine, I shared with him how many Saint Ignatius alums didn't realize Andrew was his son unti we started reporting about Andrew's feats on the corner when he was just a red-shirt freshman at Stanford. Man, did that time ever fly by!
