*Lancaster (7:44.88) garners first place (10 points) in what was the only boys final event on Friday. Saint Ignatius' solid second-place time was 7:49.91. Mother Nature, as predicted, showed her ugly side on Friday. So we will keep you updated on the prelims as they become available.

*4x100 update - The team of juniors Pat Jeffries, Dan Way and Tim McVey and senior Lamar Kemp finished eighth in its prelim heat at 43.27 (14th overall) and did not qualify for Saturday's finals. However, this injury-riddled team did a remarkable job of qualifying for state.

*4x400 update - The team of Pat Jeffries, Lamar Kemp, junior Brendan Kobunski and Drew Galang was edged out by Hudson for Saturday's ninth and final qualifying spot in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The Explorers ran a 3:24.33 and the Wildcats came in at 3:24.42. Congratulations to the 'Cats' 4x400 group, which made impressive strides throughout the memorable 2012 season.

On Saturday, we will follow the efforts of senior Blake Thomas in the discus and Jack Miller in the 3200 meter run.
