Congratulations go out to Saint Ignatius senior offensive lineman Mike Cray, who has been chosen as the Wildcats' third captain in a vote by his senior teammates.

Mike now joins senior tailback/safety Tim McVey and senior defensive end Kevin Kavalec as three of the 'Cats' four captains for the 2012 football season. The fourth captain, which usually comes from the area of special teams, will be selected by the coaches during the two-a-day practices later this summer.

"Mike is a meticulous technician," said Saint Ignatius' 30-year head coach Chuck Kyle '69. "He started every game for us last season at guard and might also play some defense this year. Mike (6-foot-1, 245) accepts the challenge and really is a master technician. I think the kids see that he pushes others just as hard as he pushes himself, and that is why he is a captain."

Once again, the corner congratulates Mike on what is a well-deserved honor.
