Here is Coach Mike Gallagher's up close look at the Wildcats' cross country team in its competition this past weekend.

It was a busy weekend for the Wildcat Harriers. At the Cloverleaf Invitational, the Wildcats took first place in the Freshman/Sophomore race. Jim Rogers took the overall title in the race in 17:50. Following close behind were Sean Sovacool 18:12, Alex Falkenberg 18:34, Frank Quinn 18:40, Brennan Leitch 19:02, Andrew Ohliger 19:04 and Greg Miller 19:13.

The Wildcats took third in the Junior/Senior race. Leading the way were Dan Reyes 19:18, Brian Drellishak 19:18.5, Tom Laycock 19:24, Sam Klanac 19:35, David Sinclair 20:02 and Sean VanHulle 20:48.

*The Varsity A and B squads and all seniors traveled to the All-Catholic Meet in Dayton. The Wildcats defended the team title over Indianapolis Cathedral and Toledo St. John's Jesuit. In spite of a gallant effort, Jack Miller was edged at the finish line and finished second overall in 16:01 to lead the Wildcats. Luke Wagner 16:20, Joe Arquillo 16:25, Vince Bartram 16:38, Elliot Thorkelson 16:47, Tim Trentel 16:48 and Pat Scanlon 16:53 rounded up the top 7. Scoring for the Varsity B squad were Jack Fitzgerald 16:55, Dylan Lynch 17:08, Tom Sullivan 17:19, Jack Politowicz 17:28, David Meler 17:30, Jack Maier 17:42 and Jeff Foerg 17:53.

*In the Open race, the Wildcats took 7 of the top 10 spots to win the title with 20 points. Liam Farrington was the top Wildcat finishing second overall in 18:03. A hard charging Matt Paponetti finished third in 18:08, followed by Sean Williamson 18:10, Patrick Politowicz 18:15, Zak Zubic 18:24, Brendan Krevis 18:30 and Connor Lough 18:47.

This week's schedule: WE WILL NOT BE TRAVELING TO GILMOUR ON FRIDAY. We will go as a team to the Meet of Champions (at Hilliard Bradley) and run in the Championship and Open races.
