Saint Ignatius, St. Ed 1-2 in state and PD polls

As expected, Saint Ignatius (5-0) remained in the top spot and St. Edward (5-0) was right behind the 'Cats in The Plain Dealer's weekly Top 25 seven county football poll. The Wildcats moved from 24th to 18th in USA Today's Super 25 national poll.

Rounding out The PD's top 10 were Mentor, Cleveland Heights, Brunswick, Midview, North Royalton, St. Vincent-St. Mary, Chagrin Falls and Glenville.

The 4-1 Glenville Tarblooders, also 10th in the Eitel computer ratings (see the corner's story below), will take on the Wildcats in Byers Field on Saturday night at 7.

As for this week's Associated Press state poll, the Wildcats and the Eagles are also 1-2 in Division I. Here is how a state panel of sports writers and broadcasters voted this week (first-place votes are in parenthesis).
