The junior has committed to continuing his academic and golf career at Indiana University.

OHIO CITY, Oh - The Saint Ignatius Golf program continues to grow as a premier powerhouse after winning its second straight State Championship. The program adds another Division I commit as Bradley Chill will continue his academic and golf career at Indiana University. The junior has been a member of the varsity squad since his freshman year and was one of the key contributors in back-to-back championships for the golf program.

“It was a great process and I tried to embrace it,” says Chill. “When I visited Indiana, I loved everything about the campus. The team and coach chemistry was great and they checked all the boxes off for me.”

Head Golf Coach PJ Myers ’99 took over the program in 2019 and has seen the development of Chill since he stepped foot on the campus of Saint Ignatius High School. “I am proud of Bradley and happy for his family; he is joining a fantastic program in Indiana,” Myers says. “I also think having him play with Nick at the collegiate level will boost his play.”

Nick Piesen, who just finished his senior season, will continue his career at Indiana University, meaning he and Chill will reunite as teammates at the collegiate level. The two golfers were tandem superstars this season for the golf program as Piesen was an individual State Champion, shooting a 148 and Chill was right behind, finishing second with a 150 at the State Tournament. “Bradley can win any golf tournament he enters," explains Myers. "His sheer ability to play golf and dial in made him place second with a tremendous score."

“Nick and I grew up playing junior golf together,” says Chill. “Nick is an awesome teammate and I am looking forward to playing with him at the college level.”

When it comes to golf, the mental game is a significant factor when stepping on the course. Chill has come a long way in developing that aspect of his approach. “He has developed his mental game. Golf is a lot of mental work and Bradley has come a long way since his first year,” says Myers. “He is a veteran who has competed at States for three straight years now; the course has become familiar for him.”

Before making his way over to Bloomington, Chill will have one more season as a Wildcat golfer. “I want to become a stronger golfer and a better thinker on the course,” Chill explains. “These collegiate guys are good and you can not fall behind. I will continue to work hard and have a good education to fall back on.”

Heading into his senior year, Chill will be a leader on the Golf Cats, seeking their third straight State Championship in the 2023 season. “Bradley is an incredible young player and we knew of his talent at a young age,” says Myers. “He continues to develop and has been a staple for our team since he stepped on campus.”
