The Soccer Cats head on the road to play Noblesville standing at a record of 7-0-0.

OHIO CITY, Oh - On Wednesday, the Wildcats faced off against the Shaker Heights Red Raiders on Senior Night, a great night in any sports program to honor the men who have come such a long way to lead their respective teams to victory properly.

On a brisk night at Wasmer Field, the Wildcats had a chance to continue their incredible season thus far against a highly motivated and passion-filled Shaker Heights squad. With the Wildcats lining up with their Senior-infiltrated lineup, things were ready to begin.

The more significant part of the first half was much of the same; the Wildcats trying to break the Red Raiders’ low block on the attack. The Red Raiders lined up in a 5-4-1 for the entire first half, dropping back with every loss of the ball and one man occupying the other two-thirds of the pitch.

The Wildcats would periodically get through and get a chance, but unfortunately, no opportunity was ever finished. However, the Wildcats remained calm despite the mind games as they looked to stay composed and find the right chances.

About 31 minutes into the game, the Wildcats finally managed to capitalize. Collin Folds played an adorable ball over the top to the prolific striker Zsombor Onodi, who flicked it over the keeper and put some incredible curve on the ball as it rolled in and put the Wildcats on the board.

With just seconds left in the half, the Wildcats would put a dagger into the morale of the Red Raiders, as Nathan Trickett played a ball through to Nolan Spicer, who capped off a ball past the keeper, 2-0 to the good now.

After halftime, Shaker Heights would move into a more neutral tactical position, and the Wildcats would take advantage as the low block was dismantled.

Four minutes into the half, the Wildcats would strike with gorgeous lineup play. Trickett would play it to Onodi, Onodi played it off to Rimac, who laid it right back off to Onodi, who chipped it ever so nicely over the keeper as it narrowly crossed the line to make it 3-0.

Man of the Match vs. Shaker Heights - Josip Rimac

Rimac knocked in the fourth and fifth goals impressively within just nine minutes, Onodi assisting the first, while Brady Mueller assisted the second goal.

A great cross from TJ Fraser found the head of Phil Vlastaris in the 68th minute to make it 6-0 in such a brilliant span of play from the team.
The final goal came from Ashton Daher, who received a through ball from Nathan Smith, who dribbled it with solid composure into the six-yard box and finished near post to cap off the final goal and finish the game with the Wildcats having a resounding 7-0 deficit over the Red Raiders, with yet another clean sheet from the defense.

The Wildcats will play Saturday at 3 p.m. against nationally-ranked Noblesville from Purdue University Fort Wayne. Coverage will be on SIBN, so stay tuned; it should be a classic match!
