The Ice Cats are gaining momentum heading towards the end of the regular season.

Senior Night for the Wildcats was a huge success. The Ice Cats took on the Olentangy Berlin Bears at John M. Coyne Recreation Center last Saturday night. Head Coach Pat O'Rourke had touching words to say about all of this 2021 graduating class seniors.

Captain Aidan Conway, a four-year letterman for the Varsity A squad, has been one of the top defensemen in the program and Ohio hockey and has left a massive impact on the Saint Ignatius hockey program.

Alternate Captains Chuckie Wilson and Erik Galuner combined five years of varsity experience and accounted for 66 points so far this year. Their speed and scoring abilities have been put on display all year, finishing plays on the ice's offensive side.

Brian Strick, the two-way forward, has helped the Wildcats on the penalty kill and is a 200 ft player hustling up and down the ice.

The Senior goaltenders Aiden McGlaughlin and Dawson Moore have split time between the posts and have helped the Cats capture their 12th win of the year as they beat the Bears of Olentangy Berlin 5-1.

Seniors Gauner and Wilson scored early and led the parade for Savarino to go bar down and Johnny (Rocket) Rodgers to tally two more to put the icing on the cake.

The Ice Cats will now have some time off before their next contest, which will be on February 12 at OBM Arena, as they will square up against Toledo St. John's Jesuit at 7:10 p.m. The Wildcats have three games remaining in the regular season before tournament play begins.
