The Wildcats have won their first two games by a combined 8-0 score.

After graduating a horde of seniors after last season, you may think that veterans are not to be found in the Saint Ignatius Soccer program. Not so.

The Wildcats have 12 seniors on the team this year, many of whom are new to the varsity squad, but veterans nonetheless.

The leadership of the Soccer Cats' seniors has been on full display in the opening two games of the 2020 season. The Wildcats bested a Top 10 team in Massillon Jackson, 2-0, and routed a very good Copley program, 6-0.

Just about every senior has contributed in some way in the first two games. Marko Rimac may be chief among them with an impressive two goals and two assists vs. Copley. Noah Zebrak also headed in an impeccable goal against Copley, a pretty goal that brightened the field. Liam Sowell has kept two clean sheets, deflecting away several promising chances and communicating well with the defense. Everyone has shown good skill and talent in the first two contests of the season.

The Avon Lake Shoremen will visit Wasmer Field on Monday, hoping to disrupt the progress. The 2-0 JV A Cats of Jim Brennan '85 will host the Shoremen at 5 pm, and the men of Mike McLaughlin '85 will confront the visitors at 7 pm.

Before the varsity game, the Wildcats will recognize the efforts of the following 12 seniors. All have contributed in their own ways, helping to continue a proud tradition of excellence within Saint Ignatius Soccer.
